Meet Dave, Founder and Practitioner of Flexible Mind
Dip CBH, BPS Qual (Acc), BA Hons, GHR (Reg), Anxiety UK (Acc)
As a licensed Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, Dave has helped hundreds of anxiety, stress and burnout sufferers transform back into their happy, healthy and successful selves. After overcoming his own struggle with panic disorder and nervous system dysregulation, he foundered Flexible Mind, a revolutionary online clinic empowering other sufferers on their own healing journey. His combination of neuroscience, personal experience and 1-1 specialised therapeutic intervention continues to help anxiety sufferers to not only get their lives back but to continue to thrive.
And now, I'd like to share the process of The Rapid Anxiety Recovery Program™ with you
The challenge with anxiety, stress and burnout is the root of the problem often lies outside any rational or logical thinking. It’s the result of deeply embedded neural structures, behaviours and beliefs that we acquire overtime, often as a result of early childhood experiences, specific traumatic events and/or environmental cultural influences.
If your anxiety problem then, is rooted emotionally within the subconscious, then in order to influence positive change we must approach the therapy outside of the of logical problem solving mind. Beacuse if you could think your anxiety problem away, i’d wager you’d of done so already.
So, here is an overview of the approach we take in therapy to help you overcome anxiety, stress and burnout successfully…
Psychoeducation
We fear what we don't understand and so having knowledge about mind-body processes starts to disarm any belief patterns or automated physiological responses that are keeping you stuck.
Compounding our understanding of what's happening in our bodies during a panic attack, for example, will start reduce the severity of our symptoms. Let's end endlessly searching on google and self-help books and discover what is happening in your body and yours alone.
Key Skills –
- Autonomic Nervous System
- Mind Body Processes
- Safety Behaviours
- Drive, Threat and Soothe Systems
Awareness
If the anxious mind seeks certainty then we must start to become an observer of our mind-body processes as opposed to a passive receiver that tries to control our feelings.
The biggest paradox with anxiety, stress and burnout is we must experience our feelings in order for them to dissolve, but our own minds want nothing more than to keep us safe, so will avoid this at all costs. This is often why we develop safety behaviours to try and cope with our anxiety, when in reality it adds fuel to the fire.
It takes courage, curiosity and compassion to bring subconscious unknowns into our awareness and together we utilise psychotherapeutic interventions, somatic body work and interoceptive understanding to listen and face to the signals your mind-body is sending you
Key Skills –
- Nervous System Mapping and Orientation
- Introspection (observation of thoughts/emotions)
- Interoception (observation of bodily sensations)
Nurture
If we cannot think, problem solve or work around our anxiety then, the only way out is through.
Through a trained therapist and anxiety expert you'll be guided to consent to receive what’s being offered by your mind-body, creating an environment that regulates genuine safety back into your nervous system, while taking action with values that elevate your authentic self. At this stage you will start to successfully re regulate your old anxiety, stress and burnout patterns into sustainable, growing and healthy ones.
Key Skills –
- Co Regulation
- Processing Negative Emotion
- Elevating Positive Emotion
- Action With Values
I Will Be Here To Support You All The Way

The 6 week program helps you rewire habitual anxiety neurological patterns, re regulate safety back into your nervous system and reprogram your subconscious beliefs that are keeping you stuck.

What do these session work for? ↓
The program is designed to help people suffering from various conditions associated with anxiety, stress and burnout.
Often, as anxiety sufferers we try to affiliate ourselves with a particular condition because this can help us attribute our symptoms to a particular problem and give us some understanding to what we are experiencing. It’s understandable as anxiety sufferers why search for a diagnosis and is largely the result of our western medical model, to try and quantify anxiety issues into neat little boxes that can be treated and explained just like any other illness or disease.
When in our experience each person experiences anxiety, stress and burnout in a way that is completely unique to them. Our main focus is discovering how your anxiety manifests for you, where it originates, why these mind-body patterns are stuck and what you need in order to heal.
So do not be disheartened if you’re unsure what ‘type’ of anxiety you have, just trust that you feel something needs to change within. However, many people we treat may experience the following;
- Panic attacks
- Generalised Anxiety Disorder
- Health Anxiety
- Burnout & exhaustion
- Fears & phobias
- Low mood & depression
- Restlessness, nail biting & restless leg syndrome
- Chronic pain
- Post viral symptoms
- Rapid & intrusive thoughts
- Chronic fatigue syndrome
- Insomnia
- IBS

The experience is designed for you, no matter how hectic your schedule is. We work at the pace that suits you best and our support system is designed to contain you for as much or as little as is needed as you embark on your healing process.
Some see results within the first few sessions, others during the 6 weeks and others still, decide to continue weekly therapy because they benefit so much from the process. We are completely tailored to you and your needs throughout.
How do I start? ↓
You are most welcome to book your free enquiry call below, where you can have an exclusive 1-1 with Dave to share what you have been experiencing and start your journey in eliminating your anxiety, stress & burnout, while transforming back into your happy, healthy and successful self.
Will I get a diagnosis or treatment for my symptoms? ↓
No. We will not provide medical advice, nor will we diagnose you with any physiological or psychological condition. If you experience any symptoms it is essential you contact your doctor first. We are accustomed to communicating with your doctor in tandem with your therapy if consented and required.
So, what is anxiety, stress & burnout and how do I overcome them? ↓
Anxiety is simply an arousal state, often being a misfiring of the bodies stress response, in acknowledgement to a perceived threat. Stress is then the result of prolonged exposure to a perceived threat, generating, in turn, an inflammatory response that can lead to emotional or physiological burnout overtime.
They’re all intertwined and often lead into one another. .
Anxiety cannot be reasoned with – it is an intertwining of repeated thoughts, feelings, behaviours and sensations, generated by a suspicious nervous system that activates the fight/flight/freeze processes, in response to environments that it perceives as threatening, in an attempt to keep you safe.
This is why symptoms of anxiety are so crippling – racing negative thoughts, palpitations, safety behaviours, depression, panic attacks – your body is repeating an internal psychological reaction to an external environmental trauma.
Our senses gather environmental information and our thoughts process them. Once we feel safe in our body and surroundings, we can start to rewire anxious thoughts patterns, regulate physiological safety and reprogram the subconscious mind.
The anxious mind seeks certainty. It loves nothing more than to focus on anxiety symptoms and try to fix them, while creating elaborate stories and beliefs about how much danger you are in.
Healing happens in the unknown and my role is to facilitate the environment that you need in order to heal.
Anxiety works in much the same way – we do less conscious thinking, in order for the body to do more subconscious healing.
Healing, really is, in the feeling.
Don’t forget if you can remember a time without your anxiety, you can get back to that place.
What methods do you use as the treatment? ↓
Many people we treat have already had some sort of therapy to try an fix their anxiety problem, these may include; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Counselling, Hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT, ACT, Meditation, Reiki, Yoga and Medication Intervention.
As a result, over the years, we have noticed that before treatment some of our clients believe they are purchasing a specific type of therapy and that is what will be healing them. This is a half-truth and we feel it necessary to be more candid in our explanation of our methods in helping you overcome anxiety, stress and burnout:
Many therapies, including some of those listed above, use what is referred to as a ‘top down’ approach – they try and treat the symptoms as opposed to the problem causing the symptoms. It’s a very natural and logical way to deal with problems in everyday life but if you could have problem solved your way out of anxiety, stress & burnout, you would have done so already.
But, as I am sure you are aware, you can’t think your way out of anxiety, because the very thing causing it – your mind – is the same thing trying to make it go away…So instead we use what is referred to as a ‘bottom up’ approach, drawing on neuroscience, mind-body connection, nervous system regulation, co-regulation and brain retraining techniques.
But, we’d like to stress that the most important endeavour of our therapy sessions together is to be your companion while facilitating a space where your mind-body can create a new felt sense of safety, where the subconscious mind is allowed to process what it needs to, in order for your body to return to homeostasis and equanimity.
